Oruku Landing
Oruku Landing
Tourism & Leisure
Oruku Landing is a large mixed use development on the banks of the Hātea River in Whangarei.
We have collaborated with HB Architecture and Brewer Davidson to develop a master plan and concept design for a performing arts/events centre, hotel, hospitality, apartments and car park building.
Careful attention has been paid to view shafts across the river to the mountain behind, as well as public spaces including a promenade along the river.
A few words from our client:
“Dalman were excellent in genuinely taking on board our goals of a user centred design and the feedback presented through this process by the community and stakeholders, adding their expertise around hotel design but also the wider public precinct, events centre, boardwalk and apartments. Ensuring the project architecture was consistent (across all architecture) along with weaving the cultural narrative of Mana Whenua into the design was a key part of what they did and did well.
As always budget was tight and Dalman brought significant advice and solutions as to how we could value engineer the development, without compromising overall quality. I know the other team members enjoyed the collaboration with Dalman, they were great team players and we wouldn’t hesitate using them again and look forward to completing the development with them.”
